Mr. and Miss TU-K 2015

On October 2nd, 22 of TU-K’s finest young men and women took to the stage to compete for the title of Mr. and Miss TU-K 2015. After different phases of competition and performances, George Omondi Juma 23 and Harriet Wangeci Kariuki, 18, were awarded the titles.

Juma, a 3rd year from Homa Bay County is pursuing a course in Civil engineering. He ran on the platform of changing society through activities that improve the lives of low income communities. He volunteers at various children’s homes. The newly crowned Miss TU-K Harriet Wangeci is a 2nd year Bachelor of Science student. Miss Wangeci is passionate about the environment and is involved in initiatives that use Art as a way of dealing with environmental issues. Both winners received Kshs 5000 cash prize from the Ministry of Tourism and a one year modelling contract with Samantha Bridals. The two will also automatically join the Students Association of Technical University of Kenya (SATUK) as Constitutional Congress Members.

Ann Wambui Kang’u, 23, a third year student pursuing Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry is the outgoing Miss TU-K while Emmanuel Aketch Onyango, 22, is the outgoing Mr. TU-K.
