TU-K Becomes A Member of The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU)

The Technical University of Kenya is now a full member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), whose membership is open to institutions of higher learning accredited by their respective national accreditation boards in all the 54 member countries. The Association provides avenues for collaboration and cooperation among members. Joining the ACU has placed TU-K into a network of like-minded organisations whose aim is to build and forge sustainable, mutually beneficial international partnerships.

ACU member universities share Commonwealth values of democracy, freedom, peace, the rule of law, and opportunity for all. Moreover, members are able to network extensively and effectively through the association, sharing problems, solutions and good practice in a variety of higher learning environments.

ACU has launched ACU Measures programme which will offer benchmarking surveys designed collaboratively with member institutions in specific areas of governance and administration. This programme will offer institutions the chance to benchmark performances over time and demonstrate the impact of managerial changes, as well as provide university leaders with information about performance in a given area. Technical University of Kenya will be participating in this programme.

ACU has also announced the 2014 Commonwealth Summer School entitled “Can we feed a growing world? A multidisciplinary approach to food security.” This will take place at the University of Nottingham, Malaysia in August 2014. Applications for final year undergraduate and Master’s students will be up on their website which we encourage you to apply. For more information, please visit www.acu.ac.uk/beyond-2015 .
