TU-K’s Inaugural Innovation Week Kicks Off

The Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) today unveiled its inaugural Innovation Week 2026, a vibrant three-day initiative designed to turn innovative ideas into practical solutions for real-world challenges. Taking place at the university’s Main Campus in Nairobi from May 6 to 8, 2026, the event convenes students, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers under the theme “From Ideas to Impact: Innovation for a Sustainable and Resilient Future.”

TU-K Professor Receives SCECSAL Excellence Award 2026

The Director of the School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, Professor Tom Kwanya, has been awarded the prestigious SCECSAL Excellence Award 2026, a distinguished recognition conferred by the Standing Conference of Eastern, Central and Southern African Library and Information Associations (SCECSAL).  He was honoured in the Knowledge Creation and Sharing category for his outstanding contributions to the generation, organisation, dissemination, and application of knowledge within the library and information science discipline across the region.

Researchers Present Findings on Socio-Economic Prospects of Samatar–Wajir Road

Researchers from the Technical University of Kenya (TU-K), in collaboration with King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, have presented new interdisciplinary research demonstrating the critical role of transport infrastructure in promoting socio‑economic development in marginalized regions.

The findings were presented at the 1st CIDRA (Creating a Joint Infrastructure for Dialogue, Research and Advocacy between Europe and Africa) Academic Conference, hosted by the University of Dar es Salaam from 15–16 April 2026, under the theme: ‘Regional and Transregional Dimensions in Law and Policymaking’.
