Prof. Mutua In Panel to Pick NACOSTI Board

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Benedict M. Mutua, PhD, Rer. Nat., EBS, Vice-Chancellor

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Benedict Mutua, has been appointed as a member of the Selection Panel to pick the Board of the National Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI). The appointment was made by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Musalia Mudavadi, and published in a Kenya Gazette Notice dated 16th January 2026. The panel’s mandate shall end upon the successful appointment of the NACOSTI Board. The Selection Panel is being chaired by Prof Florence Olubayo. Alongside Prof Mutua, other members are: Daniel Oliech, George Nyakundi, Dr Stephen Ikikii, Wairimu Njage and Dr Evans Mukoye.  NACOSTI’s mandate includes regulating and ensuring quality in science, technology and innovation in the country and accordingly advises the Government on the same.
