Thirty Four members of TU-K staff have benefited from Masters’ and Ph.D full-scholarship programmes from INTI International University, based in Malaysia. This is part of the Memorandum of Understanding between TU-K and INTI International University signed in September 2023 projected at building staff and student academic and research capacity.
Part of the collaboration areas include; students and staff exchange programmes, academic and research tours, joint publication and exchange of academic material.
The first cohort consisting of both teaching and non-teaching members of staff will graduate in July this year.
The Global Relations Manager, Dr. Mayibongwe Tafara Mudzengi who visited TU-K expressed his excitement of the success of the cooperation indicating that the two institutions would consider extending the engagement beyond the five-year timeline.
Dr. Mudzengi met the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Institutional Advancement and Enterprise, Prof. Paul Wambua together with some of the student beneficiaries.
Dr. Mudzengi indicated that the two institutions would explore other collaborations such as joint application for research and academia funding, developing of joint teaching curricula, mounting of blended short courses that would be taught at TU-K and virtually at INTI International University.
Prof. Wambua on his part expressed his appreciation to the two institutions for implementing the collaboration. He asked various Heads of Department at TU-K to explore this opportunity for the benefit of students and staff.
