Fullcare Medical Ltd to Work with TU-K

The delegation from Fullcare Medical Limited led by HR Mr. Hu Junwu hold a consultative meeting with the DVC, RTD Prof. Alfred Orina alongside faculty representatives.

Fullcare Medical Ltd, a medical company based at Tatu City, will soon sign an MoU with the Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) that will see students in various fields benefit from attachment and internship opportunities as well as job placements. The cooperation also extends to joint research engagements between the two institutions.

Fullcare Medical, a subsidiary of Zhende Medical Company based in China, is setting base in Kenya and the region and looks to employ more than 700 experts in various sections in the factory.

The medical manufacturing company’s delegation that was led by the Human Resource Director, Hu Junwu, disclosed this when they paid a courtesy call to the University Management.

Fullcare Medical specialises in manufacturing of disposable medical devices offering a range of products including; traditional and advanced wound care, compression and fixation treatments, personal care, and disinfectants.

In this regards, Mr. Hu Junwu indicated that Fullcare Medical seeks to deepen cooperation with TU-K through absorbing graduates in their workforce.

“Interns and graduates we intend to absorb will be part of the technical staff helping in product design and development, helping in machine operations and manufacturing entities within and without our factory at Tatu City,” Hu Junwu said.

The delegation of five from Fullcare Medical had a consultative meeting with the DVC - Research and Technology Development, Prof. Alfred Orina alongside Faculty representatives; Prof. Jackson Odote, Dr. Naomi Waiganjo and Dr. Robert Onyancha of FAST, Dr. Fredrick Mutua of FEBE and Ms. Naomi Njuguna of FSST.

Prof. Orina expressed his excitement noting that the collaboration with the industry affirms TU-K’s practical training, this in addition to the traditional training.

“The University maintains strong industry connections and provides quality training. We are excited to have the collaboration with Fullcare Medical and look forward deepening this relationship,” Prof. Orina said.

A team convened by the Directorate of Mechanical and Manufacturing is scheduled to visit to Fullcare Medical factory in Tatu City. Prof Orina with his counterpart Prof. Paul Wambua, DVC Institutional Advancement and Enterprises (IAE) will be part of the delegation.
